We feel like this bull puts it all together.  Growth, thickness, depth of body and disposition along with excellent EPD's and DNA Carcass markers.  Lord willing, he could have a huge impact in our herd and  even the breed.  80# BW with a 715# WW.  Even though he is solid-black, he will still throw those bald-faced calves when used on red hereford cows.  Put him to use in your herd!!!
 

JN Balder 6314, a 5/8-blood Black Hereford bull that has been DNA tested as homozygous black.  A calving ease cadillac!!! This bull has a balanced set of EPD's: BW 0.9, WW 30.8, YW 43.8, M 19.9, MG 35.3.  He is working nicely on first-calf heifers as well as cows.  An added bonus is knowing that all of his calves will be black! 

The 6314 bull has been used heavily this past year as a yearling.  We collected him before he was turned in with the spring-calving cows last summer.  We put him back with the fall-calving cows in early December.  His first calves are hitting the ground now in 3 herds and look good.  The average BW in our herd is running 71.5#.  A really good calving-ease, long-sided, deep-body bull, with an excellent disposition.  Semen available at $20/straw plus shipping. JN Balder 6443 is a 23/32-blood Black Hereford bull that has also been DNA tested as homozygous black.  His EPDs are: BW 0.3, WW 33.4, YW 40.8, M 18.7, MG 35.4.  This bull, used on registered red Hereford cows, would give you black calves carrying 85% Hereford blood.     This bull has been sold.  Limited Semen available.
